Someone asked me the other day, “What do you do when you have a new idea for a product?” It made me stop and think—what do I do?
Here are the steps I take:
1. Think the idea through in order to easily tell someone else about it.
2. Consider the ‘why’ of the product. Why is this a good idea? Who needs it? Why do they need it?
3. Research the idea online. Who else is offering this product? What are they saying about it?
4. Bounce the idea off people in my inner circle.
Then I reflect on these thoughts and opinions in order to decide if and when I will move forward with the new idea. This is the easy part. Next is market research and the hard work begins!
Got a good idea? Let me know!!
